Blue Bird is one of the designs I’m developing for Hourworn’s product line. The Daytona sand, the land-speed machine and the oversized watch dial bring together the mechanical stories that keep pulling me into this world.
One detail has already changed: the speed now reads 276 MPH, the rounded figure Rolex gives for Campbell’s 1935 Daytona run. Getting the story right matters to me.
Next comes turning this artwork into a shirt. I’m getting the studio ready, choosing the garments and working toward the first prints. I’ll share how it comes together.
