NAVY / RED standalone GMT bezel artwork
HOURWORN ARTWORK PREVIEW · IN DEVELOPMENT

JET AGE / GMT HERITAGE

Navy / Red.

One bezel. More than one place.

A red-and-blue ring can bring an entire world of travel to mind. This design gives that familiar GMT detail its own space, on a white shirt.

01 / THE HISTORY

The reference.
The reason.

Time moved with the traveller.

Rolex dates the GMT-Master to 1955 and documents its adoption by Pan Am flight crews. A 24-hour hand and rotating 24-hour bezel helped make another time zone readable on the wrist.

A color split collectors recognize.

The red-and-blue bezel is widely known by the nickname “Pepsi.” Our reference is that visual language and GMT culture. The photograph below shows a later GMT-Master II reference 16710, not the original 1955 GMT-Master.

02 / FROM THE HISTORICAL RECORD

A closer look.

Historical material and reference objects behind the design.

Later reference: Rolex GMT-Master II 16710, described by the photographer as a 1989 example. Photograph taken in 2022. Shown for its red-and-blue bezel; not a 1955 archival photograph.

03 / THE HOURWORN INTERPRETATION

From reference
to artwork.

The bezel is the graphic. We are keeping the composition focused on the navy/red split and the Hourworn mark, without adding an aircraft or a full watch illustration. White is the selected shirt color; print dimensions and the physical sample remain to be confirmed.

Historical images are presented for context and are not the shirt print. This is an independent Hourworn project, with no affiliation with or endorsement by the referenced watch brands.
